President’s Welcome
Welcome to the Sandwich Fair
The Sandwich Fair, which began in 1888 to
showcase local agricultural, horticultural, and
home arts displays, has a rich 138-year history.
While farming methods have evolved from
horse-drawn plows to high-tech, satellitedriven machinery, the fair remains a beloved
tradition, attracting over 175,000 visitors to its
five-day run during the week after Labor Day.
This year, we are also honoring the Auggie Otto
family. We deeply appreciate their 72 years of
service operating the steam engine train
and respect their decision to retire it,
thanking them for the countless happy
memories they created for generations
of fair-goers.
As we celebrate the 138th Sandwich Fair
and America’s 250th anniversary, we are
excited to welcome everyone for another
year of entertainment, commercial
displays, carnival rides, and the familiar
sights, sounds, and aromas that define
the true County Fair experience.
