Oatmeal Cake

Annual Giving Tree
Starting Thanksgiving
During Library Hours
Help spread holiday cheer through the annual Giving
Tree, supporting families served by the Hinckley Area
Food Pantry. Visit the Hinckley and Waterman Libraries
starting Thanksgiving to choose an ornament from the
tree and fulfill a holiday wish for a local child or family
in need. A meaningful way to give back and brighten
the season for others!
1 tsp baking soda
Ingredients
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 1/3 cups of 昀氀our
1 ¼ cups of boiling water
½ tsp salt
1 stick of butter
½ tsp nutmeg
Instructions
1. Pour boiling water over the quick cooking oats and the stick of
butter. Cover and let stand 20 minutes, no longer!
2. Add 2 eggs to the oatmeal mixture
3. Add all dry ingredients to oatmeal mixture and stir well.
4. Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes in a 9x13 lightly greased
pan
Topping
6 tbs of butter
Mix well and spread over top
¼ cup evaporated milk
of warm cake. Broil until lightly
½ cup brown sugar (packed)
